Love Through The Lens: Karly & Garrett

As a photographer, every session is a unique journey, but some stories weave themselves into the very fabric of your heart. Such is the case with Karly and Garrett, a couple whose love story unfolded beautifully in front of my lens during their engagement photography session. The serendipity of our connection added an extra layer of warmth to the experience, as I had the privilege of meeting them through Karly, my daughter's swim coach for the last two? three? summers. (It all blends together at this point, haha).

From the moment we began the session, there was an undeniable chemistry between Karly and Garrett. The location we chose for the session mirrored the essence of their relationship — a whimsical garden, trees with autumn's gentle touch, a bamboo forest that lended itself for dancing, and a lakeside setting that mirrored the beauty and tranquility of their connection. As the Sunday afternoon sun bathed everything in a warm glow, I couldn't help but marvel at how effortlessly their love translated into the visual language of their photographs. A kiss through the bamboo? Could they be any cuter?

What struck me most about Karly and Garrett was their genuine affection for each other. Our time was about freezing those authentic, in-between moments that spoke volumes about the depth of their bond.
